प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी अपने संसदीय क्षेत्र वाराणसी को बड़ा तोहफा देने जा रहे हैं। केन्द्र सरकार के कार्यकाल के दो साल पूरे होने पर पीएम मोदी केन्द्र की स्वर्णिम परियोजनाओं में से एक गंगा जल परिवहन परियोजना का शिलान्यास 26 मई को करेंगे। अंतर्देशीय जल परिवहन प्राधिकरण ने इसकी तैयारी शुरू कर दी है।

तकरीबन 4200 करोड़ की ड्रीम परियोजना की नींव पीएम मोदी के हाथों बनारस में रामनगर के राल्हूपुर में रखी जाएगी। अफसरों का कहना है कि पीएमओ से शिलान्यास होने के संकेत मिल चुके हैं। इस कार्यक्रम में जलपरिवहन मंत्री नितिन गडकरी एवं नमामि गंगे की केन्द्रीय मंत्री उमाभारती के भी मौजूद रहने की संभावना है। 

15.4 एकड़ में बनना है बंदरगाह 
राल्हूपुर में प्रस्तावित बंदरगाह 15.4 एकड़ भूमि पर बनना है। इसके लिए जमीन अधिग्रहण की प्रक्रिया भी शुरू हो चुकी है। जून के पहले सप्ताह में यहां से एक हजार टन के मालवाहकों का संचालन शुरू हो जाएगा। प्राधिकरण के अफसरों का कहना है कि अभी अधिकृत प्रोटोकाल पीएम का नहीं आया है लेकिन मंत्रालय ने शिलान्यास की तैयारी युद्धस्तर पर शुरू कर देने का निर्देश दिया है। 

बंदरगाह के लिए टेंडर जारी 
बंदरगाह के प्रथम चरण के कार्य के लिए 196 करोड़ रुपये की निविदा एफकॉन कंपनी को दी गई है। वाराणसी से हल्दिया तक जल परिवहन सेवा को शुरू करने पर करीब 4,200 करोड़ रुपये खर्च होंगे। इस परियोजना के प्रथम चरण में वाराणसी के अलावा झारखंड के साहेबगंज व हल्दिया में भी टर्मिनल बनाया जाएगा। वाराणसी में टर्मिनल निर्माण तथा उसे सड़क व रेल मार्ग से जोडऩे पर कुल 750 करोड़ रुपये खर्च होंगे। उपनिदेशक एके मिश्र ने बताया कि प्रथम चरण में 250 करोड़ रुपये का बजट रखा गया है। इसमें 210 करोड़ रुपये में टर्मिनल के निर्माण में और बाकी रकम सड़क के काम में खर्च होगा।

गंगा में ड्रेजिंग का काम जारी 
गंगा जलपरिवहन सेवा शुरू करने के पहले ही वाराणसी-गाजीपुर के बीच गंगा में ड्रेजिंग का कार्य शुरू कर दिया गया है। ड्रेजिंग कार्य पर करीब 30 करोड़ रुपए खर्च होंगे। (Source: Hindustan)

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar offers prayer to Shiva, Ganga in Varanasi

Varanasi: Bihar chief minister and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar visited Sankat Mochan temple to take blessings of Bhagwan Hanuman for the success of his 'Mission UP 2017' on Friday morning. He also offered prayers at Kashi Vishwanath temple and performed Ganga puja and aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.

Nitish was here to address the UP unit workers convention held at Pindra on Thursday. After offering prayers at Sankat Mochan temple, he met temple's mahanth Vishwambhar Nath Mishra and discussed issues relating to the pollution of the holy river - Ganga.

"Nitish Kumar expressed his concern over the plight of Ganga. The discussions centered around the need to keep a check on sewage discharge into the river, and sufficient flow of water," Mishra told TOI. Mishra, who is also the president of Sankat Mochan Foundation that works for the cause of Ganga, explained the woes of the holy river in Varanasi.

Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claim - 'Maa Ganga ne bulaya hai', Nitish said, "Maa bulati nahi hai, beton ko maa ke paas jana hota hai' (Mother doesn't call her sons, but it is the duty of the sons to approach their mother and take care of her), said Mishra. Modi had also visited the temple on December 20, 2013 before addressing Vijay Shankh Naad rally here.

President to perform aarti at Dashaswamedh Ghat in Varanasi

Varanasi: President Pranab Mukherjee will spend the early morning of May 13 as a VIP pilgrim in the holy city of Varanasi, taking part in the celebrations of Ganga Saptami-the day of the rebirth of Goddess Ganga-at Dashaswamedh Ghat, before offering prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple. The President's pilgrim progress is expected to last an hour.

The President will perform 'aarti' amid the chanting of the 'devi sukta' and 'rudra sukta' mantras, while offering reverence to Goddess Ganga on her banks at the Dashaswamedh Ghat on the occasion of 'Ganga Saptami', which is believed to be 'Ganga Utapatti Divas' (the birthday of Ganga), disclosed Pt Shrikant Mishra, who is hosting the event.

According to Mishra, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will be the other VIP pilgrim performing the same rituals with the President, mentioning that all these rituals would be performed by a team of 51 priests under his supervision.

The final itinerary of the President's Varanasi visit from the afternoon of May 12 to the morning of May 13 was received by the district administration on Saturday night. According to the ADM Protocol office, after arriving at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) by chopper from the LBS International Airport, the President would attend the varsity's centennial year function at the Swatantrata Bhawan on the evening of May 12.

Following a night's stay at the varsity guest house, the President's fleet would reach Dashaswamedh Ghat before 6 am on May 13. Said Mishra, "As the President is arriving on a very auspicious day, the rituals to be performed by him have been selected accordingly." After the President completes the rituals and performs 'aarti', he would be given dry fruits as 'prasad' and also a 'rudraksha' garland.

From Dashaswamedh Ghat, the President would move to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple (KVT). KVT's chief executive officer MP Singh said that during his 20-minute stay inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, the President would offer 'rudrabhishek', 'dugdhabhishek' and 'jalabhishek' amid the chanting of mantras by 11 priests.

Following the rituals, the temple trust and officials would honour the President on the temple campus. After completing his pilgrimage in Kashi, the President will leave KVT at 7.10 am to return to the BHU campus to board his chopper for the airport. Mentioning legends and the significance of Ganga Saptami, Mishra explained that as per the 'puranas' and other mythological beliefs, Ganga first descended to earth on the occasion of 'Ganga Dussehra'. However, he said, sage Jahnu swallowed Ganga's water.

The Gods then had to intercede to plead with the sage, following which he released Ganga once again on the day of Saptami of Shukla Paksha of the Vaishakh month as per the Hindu calendar. The day has since been known as 'Ganga Utapatti' (rebirth of Goddess Ganga).

वाराणसी. यहां एक नाई ने मुंह में कैंची पकड़कर 24 घंटे में 118 लोगों को हेयर कट देने का वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड बनाया है। अब तक इसकी आधिकारिक पुष्टि नहीं हुई है। हालांकि गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड्स में दर्ज आंकड़ों के आधार पर यह अपने आप में पहला मामला है। जानिए गिनीज बुक में दर्ज वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड को कैसे मिली चुनौती...

- हेयर कटिंग को लेकर गिनीज बुक में कई तरह के रिकॉर्ड दर्ज हैं, लेकिन मुंह से कैंची पकड़ने का कोई रिकॉर्ड नहीं है।
- 24 घंटे में सबसे ज्यादा हेयर कट करने का वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड लंदन के के नबी सालेही के नाम है।
- नबी ने 4 जून 2011 को एएंडएन स्टाइल हेयर स्टूडियो में लगातार 526 लोगों के बाल काटे थे।
- सबसे कम समय में हेयर कट करने का वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड ओहियो, अमेरिका के रॉबर्टो ए गैंगले के नाम है।
- रॉबर्टो ने 18 नवंबर 2011 को कुल 49.76 सेकंड में हेयर कट दिया था।
- इस रिकॉर्ड के लिए उन्होंने ब्रॉडव्यू हाइट्स के मेयर के बाल काटे थे।

ऐसे बनाया अंसार ने रिकॉर्ड

- मोहम्मद अंसार ने 3 मई को शाम 8.15 बजे बाल काटने शुरू किए।
- उनके सामने 24 घंटे लगातार हेयर कटिंग करने की चुनौती थी।
- वे 4 मई को रात 9.15 बजे तक हेयर कटिंग करते रहे।
- इस दौरान उन्होंने 118 लोगों को हेयर कट दिया।
- अंसार का दावा है कि मुंह से कैंची पकड़कर इतनी देर लगातार बाल काटने का यह पहला वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड है।
- अंसार ने अपने रिकॉर्ड का वीडियो बनाया है, जिसे वे गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड्स के पास पुष्टि के लिए भेजेंगे।
- गिनीज के नियमों के मुताबिक ऐसे रिकॉर्ड्स में हिस्सा लेने वाले को हर 1 घंटे बाद 5 मिनट का ब्रेक लेने की छूट रहती है।
- अंसार ने ये ब्रेक भी 2-4 घंटे के अंतर से लिए।

इसलिए बनाया रिकॉर्ड

- अंसार ने बताया, "यह रिकॉर्ड मैंने उन दिव्यांगों के लिए बनाया है, जो अपने आप को लाचार समझते हैं।"
- रिकॉर्ड के दौरान आधी रात में पार्लर में लोगों की संख्या थी, पर सिलेक्टेड लोगों को ही कटिंग के लिए रखा गया।
- गिनीज बुक की टीम ने अंसार से रिकॉर्ड का अनकट वीडियो मांगा है।

...ये कमी कर सकती हैं रिकॉर्ड से दूर

- स्थानीय निवासी राकेश मल्होत्रा के मुताबिक अंसार की कुछ गलतियां उन्हें रिकॉर्ड से दूर कर सकती हैं।
- राकेश के मुताबिक अंसार को आब्जर्वर रखना चाहिए था।
- रिकॉर्ड की लिखित सुचना प्रशासन को देकर मॉनिटरिंग टीम रखवानी चाहिए थी।
- अगर गिनीज बुक ने इन कमियों को नजरअंदाज किया तो अंसार के नाम यह अनोखा रिकॉर्ड जरूर दर्ज होगा।

सूज गया है मुंह

- इस अनोखे रिकॉर्ड को बनाने के जुनून में अंसार का मुंह सूज गया है।
- सैलून के मालिक राजेश ने बताया कि रिकॉर्ड की वीडियों रिकॉर्डिंग कराई गई है।
- "अंसार ने अपने प्रयासों और काशी वासियों के आशीर्वाद से इस मंजिल को पाया है।"

PM Modi launches country's 1st solar-powered e-boats

VARANASI: Launching the country's first solar powered e-boats in river Ganga in his parliamentary constituency -Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a jibe on Congress by saying, "Wo sarkarey gayi jo sirf amiro ko diya karti thi, ye sarkar unkey liye hai jinka duniya me koyi nahi (gone are the governments that gave everything to wealthy people, this government is for those who have nobody for help)."

Mentioning how dalits, tribal and backward class people are benefited with his Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Modi also targeted banks indirectly on liquor giant Vijay Mallya episode. "Poor of this country do not want loans in thousands of crores or rupees. Their requirement is meager. The way these poor people are repaying the banks should be judged that who is really `rich' by heart." He also cautioned boatmen not to misuse their earning, which is going to be increased by conversion of their manual or diesel motor boats into e-boats, for consuming liquor.

On Sunday evening Modi reached Varanasi's Assi Ghat, the same venue along river Ganga, where he had launched his much hyped Clean India campaign on November 8, 2014, to launch the e-boat service. After distributing 11 e-boats to their owners, he also took a solar panelled e-boat ride in a circle of about 100 meters in front of Assi Ghat. Following this boat ride amidst traditional slogan of 'Har Har Mahadev' by the charged gathering at ghat steps, he appeared on the dais along with British high commissioner Sir Dominic Asquith and other Bhartiya Janata Party leaders.

During his over 30 minutes speech, Modi kept Congress on target. "At the time of launching seven satellites to provide GPS service, we kept the courageous boatmen in mind and renamed this service as `Navik'. In previous governments people had witnessed how the projects, schemes and services were named after the members of one family. Being politicians, it also came to our minds to rename it after leaders like Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and Shyama Prasad Mukherji, but we overcame that greediness and preferred Navik only", said Modi.
Praising 21 crores poor families that opened their bank accounts under PM Jan Dhan Yojana and deposited Rs 35,000 crores, Modi appealed to the beneficiaries to keep their accounts operating to avail the benefits of insurance scheme linked to it. Lauding achievements of PM Mudra Yojana, he said 60% of its beneficiaries are from dalit, tribal and backward class population while 22% are women. These over 3.31 crore beneficiaries are honestly repaying the installments of loans, which has been given in a volume of over Rs 1.25 lakhs crores, on scheduled time, he said adding, banks are now realizing why he appealed to the officials to keep faith in these people.

Modi said that e-rickshaws and e-boats would bring a revolutionary change in economic growth of the city, and environment would also improve here. Before ending, he again took a promise from local denizens to keep the city clean and beautiful.

Varanasi leaving no stone unturned to be Smart City



NEW DELHI: After missing the Smart City bus in the first round, Varanasi is now revamping its proposal for the second round inculcating recommendations of an expert panel set up by the Centre.

After poor performance in first round with score of just 40 out of 100, Varanasi is now preparing a revised proposal to be submitted by June 30 to the Centre. The city stood at 96th position among the 98 cities that participated in the first round.

SWOT analysis of Varanasi's first proposal by the expert panel had identified a number of challenges for the city like the deteriorating quality of life, health hazards due to non-management of waste, ageing and old school profile of city resisting change, low road safety standards and alarming levels of noise and air pollution.

  To improve on this, the expert panel has recommended the revised plan to aim at "reviving the glory of Varanasi" by conserving and promoting its heritage, protecting its cultural and traditional environment to boost tourism and employment besides provide quality urban services.

The city has been advised to build on its strengths of being a heritage city and one of the oldest cities dating back 4,000 years having various monuments like ghats, temples and mosques and being a city of diversified art and culture besides being an educational hub with four universities and having good air, rail and road connectivity.

 Inculcating expert panel's suggestion, the city's new plan is expected to focus on development of art, cultural & archeological heritage centers plus a solid waste management plan.

Other prominent themes in the new plan to include prospects for organized tourism, building of a ring road to shift the population pressure to outer areas and developing the city as a hub for medical tourism besides the potential of water transport. Varanasi could also flag the scope for CSR activities by corporate houses.

रिकार्ड के लिए मुंह से कैंची चलाकर बाल काट रहे अंसार

अपनी रोजी-रोटी चलाने की फिक्र के बीच अंसार अहमद ने ऐसा हुनर सीख लिया, जिसमें वह अब विश्व रिकार्ड बनाना चाहते हैं। पेशे से हेयर ड्रेसर अंसार हाथ की बजाय मुंह से कैंची चलाकर बाल काट रहे हैं। बनारस के जगतगंज में मंगलवार को अंसार ने अपना अभियान शुरू कर दिया। 

अंसार लगातार 25 घंटे मुंह से कैंची चलाकर बाल काटेंगे। अंसार की इस कला को देखने के लिए लोगों की भीड़ लगी हुई है। अंसार ने बताया कि 2006 में हुई  दुर्घटना में उनके हाथ में चोट लग गई जिससे वह काम पर नहीं जा सके। जिस दुकान में वह काम करते थे, उसके मालिक ने उनसे कहा कि अगर वह जल्द काम पर नहीं लौटेंगे तो उनके स्थान पर किसी दूसरे को रख लिया जाएगा। इससे चिंतित होकर उन्होंने रास्ता खोजा। हाथ के बजाय मुंह में कैंची रखी और बाल काटने का अभ्यास शुरू किया। 

धीरे-धीरे इस कला में माहिर हो गए। उसी समय उनके मन में विश्व रिकार्ड बनाने की इच्छा हुई। लेकिन उन्हें गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड के नियमों की जानकारी नहीं थी। लोगों से जानकारी मिलने पर उन्होंने गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड के मुख्यालय को ई-मेल किया। वहां से उन्हें जवाब भी मिला। इसके बाद उन्होंने तैयारी शुरू कर दी। मंगलवार शाम सात बजे तालियों की गड़गड़ाहट के बीच अभियान शुरू किया। अंसार को उम्मीद है कि वह रिकार्ड अवश्य बनाएंगे। अब तक सबसे तेज बाल काटने का रिकार्ड तुर्की के एक हेयर ड्रेसर के पास है। उसने एक घंटे में 270 लोगों के बाल काटे थे।

पीएम मोदी ने बलिया से किया उज्ज्वला योजना का शुभारंभ

प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने रविवार को केन्द्र सरकार की महत्वाकांक्षी उज्ज्वला योजना का शुभारम्भ बलिया से करते हुए कहा कि गरीबों की जिंदगी बदलना सरकार का लक्ष्य है। अभी तक जितनी भी योजनाएं बनीं, केवल मतपेटी को ध्यान में रखकर बनायी गयीं। केन्द्र में पहली ऐसी सरकार है जो गरीबों की जिंदगी बदलने का काम कर रही है। खुद को देश का मजदूर नम्बर एक बताते हुए प्रधानमंत्री ने मजदूरों की एका के लिए नया नारा भी दिया। इससे पहले मोदी ने बीपीएल परिवारों की दस महिलाओं को अपने हाथों से एलपीजी कनेक्शन दिये।

शहर से सटे माल्देपुर मोड़ स्थित विशाल मैदान में लाखों की भीड़ के बीच मोदी ने एक मई का जिक्र करते हुए कहा कि गरीबी से जूझ रहा हर व्यक्ति मजदूरी कर रहा है। गरीबी हटाने का नारा तो बहुत दिया गया लेकिन गरीबों का ध्यान नहीं दिया गया। वोट बैंक को ध्यान में रखकर गरीबों की योजना बनाने से बात नहीं बनेगी। गरीबों को हौसला देना होगा। उनके लिए शिक्षा, रोजगार, शौचालय, पेयजल के इंतजाम करने होंगे। मोदी ने कहा, दुनिया में पहले एक नारा चलता था। दुनिया के मजदूरों एक हो जाओ। उस नारे में राजनीति की बू आती थी। आज 21वीं सदी में दुनिया को जोड़न की जरूरत है। इसलिए नये नारे की जरूरत है। हम कहें 'विश्व के मजदूरों आओ हम दुनिया को एक करें।' 

पहली बार पांच करोड़ गरीबों के लिए योजना 
मोदी ने उज्ज्वला योजना की तारीफ करते हुए कहा कि देश में पहली बार कोई ऐसी योजना लांच हो रही है जो पांच करोड़ गरीबों के लिए है। पेट्रोलियम मंत्रालय कभी गरीबो का नहीं माना गया लेकिन पहली बार इसी मंत्रालय से गरीबों के लिए इतनी बड़ी योजना शुरू हो रही है। तीन साल में पांच करोड़ परिवारों में रसोई गैस पहुंचाना हमारा लक्ष्य है। 2019 में जब महात्मा गांधी की 150वीं जयंती होगी तब तक गरीबों के घर में कनेक्शन पहुंच चुके होंगे। 

चुनाव का बिगुल बजाने नहीं आया
इतनी बड़ी योजना का शुभारम्भ बलिया से करने के पीछे राजनीतिक निहितार्थ निकालने तथा इसे 2017 के विधानसभा चुनाव से जोड़ने वालों को भी मोदी ने आड़े हाथों लिया। कहा कि दुर्भाग्य है कि कुछ लोगों को इसमें भी राजनीति दिख रही है। साफ किया कि हम यहां कोई चुनावी बिगुल बजाने नहीं आये हैं। चुटकी लेते हुए कहा कि चुनाव का बिगुल तो मतदाता बजाते हैं। बलिया से योजना के शुभारम्भ में अपने तर्क भी गिनाये। कहा कि यहां रसोई गैस का औसत बेहद कम है। यहां गरीबी के नीचे जीने वाले 100 में से आठ परिवारों के पास ही रसोई गैस है। उन्होंने उदाहरण देकर कहा कि झारखंड व मध्यप्रदेश से भी हमने योजनाएं शुरू कीं। हरियाणा से बेटी बचाओ अभियान का शुभारम्भ किया। वहां तो कोई चुनाव नहीं है। बलिया में इसलिए आया हूं कि हमें गरीबी के खिलाफ लड़ना है। पूर्वी हिन्दुस्तान यदि पश्चिमी की बराबरी कर ले तो इस देश से गरीबी खत्म हो जायेगी। 

गहमरी के नाम लेकर पूर्वांचल का दर्द रखा
मोदी ने गाजीपुर के पूर्व सांसद विश्वनाथ सिंह गहमरी के बहाने पूर्वांचल की पीड़ा को उजागर किया। कहा कि यूपी ने अनेक प्रधानमंत्री दिये। फिर क्या कारण है कि यहां गरीबी बढ़ती गयी। गहमरी जी ने जब नेहरू को पूर्वी यूपी की हालत बतायी तो पटेल समिति का गठन हुआ। समिति की सिफारिशों में एक था ताड़ीघाट-गाजीपुर-मऊ रेल मार्ग का निर्माण। लेकिन पचास सालों बाद भी हालात नहीं बदले। पहली बार पूर्वी यूपी में विकास में तेजी आयी है। गाजीपुर से ताड़ीघाट-बारा पुल के लिए बजट का इंतजाम किया गया है। इसके लिए पीएम ने मंच पर बैठे रेल राज्य मंत्री मनोज सिन्हा को बधाई भी दी। कहा कि मुझे गर्व है कि यूपी ने लोकसभा चुनाव में हमें आशीर्वाद दिया। पिछली सरकार ने यूपी के विकास में जितना काम नहीं किया, उससे ज्यादा राशि यहां केन्द्र सरकार लगा रही है। 

हर दिन तीन गांवों में बिजली
मोदी ने कहा कि एक हजार दिन में देश के सभी गांवों में बिजली पहुंचाने का संकल्प लाल किले से लिया था। आजादी के इतने सालों बाद भी देश के 18 हजार गांव ऐसे हैं, जहां बिजली का खंभा नहीं पहुंचा। यूपी में ऐसे गांवों की संख्या 1529 थी। महज 250 दिनों में ही हमने यूपी के 1326 गांवों में बिजली पहुंचा दी है। आज औसतन एक दिन में तीन गांवों में बिजली पहुंचाने का काम हो रहा है। 

गंगा को गंदा नहीं करने का दिलाया संकल्प
गंगा नदी के किनारे पर ही आयोजित इस सभा में मोदी ने स्वच्छता मिशन पर भी जोर दिया। कहा कि गंगा सफाई अभियान जनता की भागीदारी से ही सफल होगा। जन-जन को इसके लिए संकल्प लेना होगा। उन्होंने लोगों को कभी भी गंगा को गंा नहीं करने का संकल्प भी दिलाया।

खुद को मजदूर नम्बर वन बताते हुए मोदी ने कहा कि मजदूरों के लिए काम करना मेरी प्राथमिकता है। उनकी हालत सुधारने की दिशा में किये जा रहे कामों को भी गिनाया। कहा कि पहले मजदूरों को 15 से 20 रुपये पेंशन मिलती थी। हमने इसे न्यूनतम एक हजार कर दिया। पहली बार श्रमिकों की पहचान के लिए एक यूनिक नम्बर दिया गया। पूरे देश में श्रमिकों को रोजगार के अवसर मिल सकें, इसके लिए एक वेबसाइट शुरू की गयी। बोनस की न्यूनतम सीमा 3500 से बढ़ाकर सात हजार रुपये की। कहा कि काम के सिलसिले में श्रमिकों के एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान पर चले जाने पर पीएफ का पैसा नहीं मिलता था। मजदूरों के हित में इसे बदल दिया। सबसे अधिक मजदूर निर्माण कार्य में हैं। इनकी देखभाल की व्यवस्था नहीं थी। इनके लिए बीमा, पेंशन, स्वास्थ्य की सेवाएं दी गयी हैं।

सब्सिडी छोड़ने वालों के लिए बजायी ताली 
अपने एक आह्वान पर एलपीजी सब्सिडी छोड़ने वालों की तारीफ करते हुए मोदी ने खुद को ताली बजायी ही, लोगों से भी बजवाई। कहा कि एक बार दिल से आवाज निकली। अचानक ही सब्सिडी छोड़ने का आह्वान कर दिया। न कोई योजना बनायी थी और न नही कोई फालोअप किया। लेकिन देश की तरक्की के लिए देश के लोग सरकार से भी दो कदम आगे बढ़ गये। एक करोड़ दस लाख लोगों ने अबतक सब्सिडी छोड़ दी है। हमने कहा था कि जो गरीबों के लिए सब्सिडी छोड़ेगा, वो पैसे गरीबों की रसोई में जायेगा। उसी वचन को हम उज्ज्वला योजना के माध्यम से पूरा कर रहे हैं।

मेरी मां भी धुएं में खाना बनाती थी
एक गरीब मां जब लकड़ी के चूल्हे पर खाना पकाती है तो एक दिन में उसके शरीर में चार सौ सिगरेट के बराबर धुआं पहुंच जाता है। जो बच्चे घर में होते हैं, उन्हें भी धुएं का कोप सहना पड़ता है। मोदी ने अपने बचपन की बातों को साझा किया। कहा कि मैंने भी इस तरह के माहौल को जीया है। हम भी एक कमरे में रहते थे। कोई खिड़की भी नहीं थी। मां खाना बनाती थी तो कभी-कभी धुआं इतना होता था कि बगल में बैठकर खाते समय हम मां को भी देख नहीं पाते थे। इसलिए हमने गरीब माताओं को इस कष्ट से मुक्ति दिलाने का फैसला किया है।

भोजपुरी में की भाषण की शुरूआत 
मोदी ने भाषण की शुरूआत भोजपुरी में ही अभिवादन करते हुए की।  कहा कि 'भृगु बाबा की धरती पर रउवा सब के प्रणाम। इ धरती भृगुजी की भूमि ह, ब्रह्मा जी भी इहां जमीन पर उतरले, भगवान रामजी यहीं से विश्वामित्र के साथ गईले। हाथ जोड़कर फिर से रउवा सबके प्रणाम।' कहा कि देश को आजादी दिलाने के लिए इसी धरती के मंगल पांडे, चित्तू पांडे का एक ऐसा सिलसिला शुरू हुआ जो आगे भी जारी रहा। हर पीढ़ी में हर समय देश के लिए जीने-मरने वाले लोग इस बलिया ने दिये हैं। मोदी ने भाषण की शुरूआत में बलिया के स्वाभिमान, गौरव व सम्मान को नमन किया। कहा कि इस धरती से पूर्व पीएम चंद्रशेखर का नाम जुड़ा है। यही धरती है जिसका सीधा नाता जयप्रकाश नारायण से है। एक से बढ़कर एक दिग्गज जिस धरती ने दिये, उस धरती को शत-शत नमन।
